Learning Theme – Changes

As our year is coming to an end we will begin to prepare the children for their next stage in their education. For those children who are moving into Nursery, we will go in small groups to the Nursery Unit and meet some of the teachers that they will be working with next year.

Understanding of the world

This week we are continuing to think about ourselves and the ways we have changed with a focus not just on how we have changed and grown since we were babies, but also how we have changed since joining Pre Nursery. We will look back over events and experiences that we have shared together over the year, and talk about the things we remember and the things that are different now.

Communication and Language

We will reflect on the year, both as a class and individually, looking at all the activities we have enjoyed, the songs, the stories, the games and activities, and we will ask the children to share their thoughts.

Personal, Social and Emotional Development

The children all enjoyed visiting the Nursery on Friday after lunch to use the outdoor area, and we will build on this by taking the children that will move to Nursery in September for a morning visit too, where they will be able to experience all the provision indoors as well as outdoors.

We will also prepare the younger children who will stay in Pre Nursery about their transition from being the youngest to one of the oldest children in the unit.  What will change? What will still be the same?

Please let us know if you have any questions or comments.

Many thanks.
