- Please label all school uniform, snack boxes and water bottle to avoid items getting lost in school. Every child needs to have a water bottle to bring in each day. No glass containers please.
- In the Summer Term, please ensure children wear sun hats on hot days to protect them when playing outside.
- On Tuesday 28 June we will have our Year 3 end of year party. Children can come to school on that day dressed in their party clothes.
This week the children will be finishing the year with a two week unit on instructions. The children will consolidate their understanding of what features are important when writing instructions, then look at imperative verbs in more detail. They will then use this knowledge of structure and grammar to create their own set of instructions.
The children will be learning about time for the next two weeks in Maths. They will consolidate and extend their knowledge of how to tell and write the time from an analogue clock, reading them with increasing accuracy to the nearest minute. The children will also record and compare time in terms of seconds, minutes, hours and o’clock, as well as compare durations of events, for example to calculate the time taken by particular events or tasks. They will finally build on their knowledge of the number of seconds in a minute and the number of days in each month, year and leap year.
THEMED LEARNING & PHSCE
This week we will be starting two weeks of computer programming. We will be looking at construction and programming through the use of the Lego Wedo packs. The challenge that we have set the children requires them to use their understanding of levers, gears and pulleys to design their own moving mechanism. We look forward to them sharing with each other, the challenges they faced, how they overcame them and their proudest moments.

Deze week zullen de Cito-resultaten meegegeven worden aan de leerlingen. Op woensdag 22 juni en donderdag 23 juni van 3:30 – 5 pm zijn ouders van harte welkom om de resultaten te bespreken.
We werken verder aan het thema ‘Echte Superhelden’. We lezen in Per Ongeluk(t) en denken verder na over gedragspatroongrafieken en het vertalen van het verhaal in een schoenendoos. Ook werken we aan een folder en een poster voor de ‘K.S.A.’ (de koninklijke superheldenacademie)
Bi(e)bbezoek en Estafette
Deze week graag alle leermaterialen inleveren. Als u de Estafettemap mee gebruiken als zomerhuiswerk kan dat. Geef dat even aan ons door. Dan zorgen wij dat uw kind het goede niveau meekrijgt.
Year 3 / 4 Spanish – Ms Caldwell
Next week the children will create a micro-lesson on a topic of their choice to deliver to the rest of the class. They will focus on vocabulary learned and how to construct a sentence from this.
Homework will be to create a short talk about their favourite things (eg. Food, hobbies, sports, etc).

This week we shall be completing our revision projects and presenting them to the class.
Homework is to complete the revision style questions from some of our topics studied this year.
Year 3 / 4 French – Mrs Rae
Next week in French we will be focussing on giving our opinions about food. Do we like it? Do we not?
Homework this week is to match the correct picture to the correct French word. You could even colour in the pictures too.
