Week Beginning 15 June 2015

Year 6 BISSCARS Graduation Ceremony - Thursday 18 June. This is an event where students are individually recognised for their contributions to life at BISS Puxi Primary School and is an opportunity for students to showcase talents.

Students will be finishing their board game creations and then have the opportunity to play each others games.


Students will be viewing the feedback that students in the Houston school. They will also be investigating card tricks and applying mathematical

tested by a series of investigations which will require the application of a range of high performance skills to solve each one. They will apply different problem solving strategies and work collaboratively to find solutions and suggest further avenues of enquiry.

Computer Programming

Students will be programming ‘Mindstorm’ robots to complete tasks including demolishing artificial buildings, reverse parking and negotiating an obstacle course.


Students will have the opportunity to discuss the videos they viewed the previus week and have informal discussions where they can ask questions.


Literacy –   engaging, challenging, stimulating, exciting, puzzling

Maths –  feedback, evaluate, appraise, review, consider

Themed Learning – puberty, adolescence, teenager, hormones


Ook deze week worden de Cito-toetsen afgenomen. U kunt uw zoon en/of dochter niet voor deze toetsen voorbereiden. De toetsen meten de voortgang die de leerling gemaakt heeft op het gebied van spelling, woordenschat en technisch lezen in de afgelopen 4 maanden. Zorg er wel voor dat uw kind goed uitgerust is.

De kinderen werken zelfstandig aan de afronding van hun artikelen, interviews, onderzoeken, recepten en verhalen voor de Hoe-overleef-ik-Azië-survivalgids.

Graag ontvang ik van elke leerling een foto van het kind op een typische plek in Azië (strand, berg, jungle, met slang/panda/olifant, noodles/rijst etend, etc.).

Year 5/6  Spanish -  Ms Ormond

The students have been enthusiastically practicing the play El gato y la luna. On Monday, the students will perform the play in small groups in front of their classmates and on Friday the students will practice their cooking skills while learning the Spanish song La Cucaracha!
This week homework: Review the worksheet and match the Spanish greetings with the English

Year 6  Spanish -  Ms Sutton

Next week pupils will be planning and cooking a selection of Spanish food and drink to celebrate the end of the term with their own 'fiesta'.
No homework this week due to transition day.
