Staff Profile: Alexandra Martinez

Assistant Head of Primary (EYFS and KS1)

For eleven years Alex worked at a British school in Madrid, firstly as a Key Stage 2 teacher, then as Head of Phase.  During this time, she also held other posts of responsibility, such as Humanities Coordinator, English Coordinator, Extra-Curricular Activities and Events Coordinator, and House Parent in the Boarding school.  Before this Alex completed her PGCE at London Metropolitan University and a BA in Linguistics at Lancaster University. 

As Assistant Head in Primary, Alex oversees ECAs, assessment and data, and is parental liaison, as well as leading the lower Primary phase.

Alex grew up in Madrid, and moved back to Spain after eight years working and studying in England.  She has always loved travelling, and has spent many summers exploring the world with her backpack.  She also enjoys skiing and reading.  Alex is joined at BISS by her son Luca, who is a student in the Primary school.
