Angela completed a BEd from Nottingham University specialising in Early Years and has been a teacher for more than 30 years. During her long career, her teaching experience has covered every age group from pre- nursery through to Upper Key Stage 2 and she has taught in many different types of school across the UK. She feels that this range of experience gives her a great insight into the development of children and their individual needs. She has also worked as a Primary Languages consultant helping to train teachers in the methodology of teaching modern foreign languages.
As a young teacher she always dreamt of working in an international setting. However, these plans were put on hold to raise her own children and she is therefore delighted to finally have the opportunity to fulfil this long held ambition by joining the team at BISS Puxi.
Angela is a creative person who loves to learn new skills wherever she goes. Since coming to Shanghai 2 ½ years ago she has enjoyed studying Mandarin and tries to use it whenever she can. She has also taken the opportunity to travel to different countries since moving to Asia and is fascinated by the wealth of culture that she has experienced. Before coming to work at BISS, she spent 18 months volunteering for the Stepping Stones charity which teaches English in migrant schools here in Shanghai as well as exploring the city. She is passionate about making the most of every opportunity and feels that moving to China has been one of the most fulfilling periods of her life.
