Louise Hudson

Year 3 Teacher

Louise Hudson

BA(Hons), PGCE, MA

Louise was born in Sheffield, UK,  and after finishing secondary school, she attended Goldmsiths College, University of London, where she was awarded a BA Hons in Education. Louise then attended the University of Brighton to complete her PGCE and qualified as a teacher with a specialism of teaching students aged 3-7 years. At this point, Louise started her teaching career with students in Reception classes and Year 2. From there, she moved to the Netherlands to begin the international aspect of her teaching career, teaching Year 1 students. Louise thoroughly enjoyed living and working internationally and knew that it was the path she wanted to take. However, she returned to the UK in order to study a distance Master’s Degree programme in Early Childhood Education at the University of Sheffield whilst continuing to teach. Towards the end of this study, Louise moved to Jakarta to work at our Nord Anglia school. She taught there for two years, until her move to BISS Puxi.

Louise feels that her experience in Early Years and Key Stage 1 teaching, and her study of Early Childhood Education at MA level, has given her a good insight and undstanding of the different pedagogical approaches to teaching according to students’ needs. As a caring practitioner, she prides herself on building positive relationships with students that enable an engaging, respectful environment which, in turn, allows for each individual to make progress. Louise enjoys making learning fun and this motivates her to be creative and to think ‘outside of the box’, so that the learning experiences shared with her students are hands on and memorable. Louise also loves to sing, dance and generally perform to bring learning experiences to life. She has been known to transform into many characters in order to inspire young children to play, read and write - including Grandma from Little Red Riding Hood, the Gruffalo and Red Leg Sue.

In her spare time, Louise enjoys cooking, listening to and playing music, and watching movies. She likes to travel and explore new places, documenting her adventures through photography. She is a very sociable person who enjoys time with friends and family, and is looking forward to becoming part of the BISS community.
