Application Process

Application process - Collège du Léman - International School of Geneva

How To Apply

You can use our online application form here.

This form allows to you apply for up to 5 children in one application.

If you would prefer, as an alternative to our online form, you can print a pdf application form and then scan and return this to us (admissions@cdl.ch) once completed (you will need to complete one for each student and please sign and date each form).

The application process allows us to assess students, and to confirm availability of places.  It is not a commitment to joining.

You will need to have the following to hand to complete the application process:

  • One photo of each student
  • A copy of the child's and parent's passports, valid for the first day of the academic school year
  • Complete transcripts of the student's academic record for the previous two years (or three years if applying for Grade 12)
  • A copy of any psychoeducational assessments for those students with learning support needs.

There is a non-refundable application fee of CHF 500 per student payable online at the end of the online application form, or if submitting a pdf application then you can click here to pay online.  We cannot offer a place until all we receive the documents detailed above, and the application fee.

In order to complete the admissions process please be aware that we will need a Confidential Report completed by one of the student’s former teachers.  This link should be sent to your current school and they will submit it to us directly (we will confirm receipt).

While we try wherever possible to admit children from the same family, each student is assessed individually and we cannot guarantee admission for all applicants.

Assessment

We may ask for students to be tested in English and Maths before accepting their application, so that we can gauge which classes suit them best. Students who may not yet be comfortable in English will be able to join English as a Second Language classes before entering the mainstream. These tests can be taken online if necessary. An English placement test is required for all Middle and High School students.

When we have received all the necessary documents, the Director of Admissions and the relevant Principal will review the information and make a final decision. We appreciate that parents are keen to secure a place for their child as quickly as possible. As a result, we will try to complete this process within two weeks wherever possible.
