How We Teach

Our educational methodology equips students to harness their resources and find their own solutions. Through our stimulating curriculum, strong Swiss values and family atmosphere, we nurture every student’s social, emotional and academic growth.

By the time they graduate, Champittet students demonstrate maturity, technical competence and academic success.

Collège Champittet hires highly skilled teachers from around the world. Our experienced teachers take a pastoral approach to education, offering personalised support to every child. Familiar with teaching in an international environment, our caring faculty and staff make every effort to help our students feel that they belong.

As part of Nord Anglia Education, all of our teaching staff participate in Nord Anglia University, a bespoke professional development platform for teachers, which ensures their familiarity with the latest thinking in educational instruction.

We would like to thank the school and the teachers for all the knowledge they passed to our children, for the attention and the encouragement, and for the good care they gave them all these years. Thanks to them our children became more confident, they have grown up emotionally as well as academically. Parents of Year 11 student

Positive Discipline

Students learn best when they believe they can succeed. Collège Champittet faculty and staff employ a positive discipline mindset to encourage self-sufficient learners. Positive discipline is based on motivation, support and encouragement, and it helps teachers build a healthy, balanced relationship with students.

We collaborate with our students and work together to find solutions, rather than using negative forms of discipline. This collaborative approach helps students discover their skills and develop a sense of confidence and belonging. As they grow, this positive discipline shapes them into independent adults who are engaged within their communities.

Champitech Digital Learning Programme

Technology is a vital part of modern life. As educators, we must teach our students how to approach our many available resources and benefit from technology.

Collège Champittet offers a digital learning programme called Champitech. This programme gives both students and teachers access to technology to make lessons more engaging and efficient. Champitech also facilitates versatile learning. With digital access, students can study and research anywhere and at any time.

We provide teachers and students with individual iPads, which we incorporate into lesson plans and programmes from a young age. Champittet students grow up knowing how to use cutting-edge technology to collaborate and innovate. Putting technology in students’ hands has a positive effect on how much they engage with class material.

All teachers are trained to integrate these devices in the classroom to help students work better together and explore a subject more in depth. Our technology integration specialists offer additional support to teachers, and our student Digital Leaders run a help desk each day to solve problems and answer questions for our school community.

After-School Tutoring

For every student, it is important to establish healthy study habits and encourage an optimistic attitude. Through learning support and after-school tutoring, Collège Champittet helps promote student success in all endeavours.

Our after-school tutoring programme is designed to provide one-on-one attention for students outside of class. Students are encouraged to have a vision beyond their assignments and grades by setting goals and identifying why they are attending school. After-school tutoring also encourages good time management skills and helps students set concrete goals for each day, week and month. Students have the opportunity to receive individualised support from our tutors, ask questions and focus on their strengths and weaknesses.

Learning how to learn is a lifelong skill. By helping our students understand how to set and accomplish their goals, we enable them to find the resources they need to achieve personal and academic success.
