Share A Dream Activities Children from KS1 had an amazing trip to the Botanical Gardens. As we were learning about "Our Planet", children were asked to think of how we can help the park to be even more beautiful and stunning. Using gloves, children collected plastic garbage and cleaned the area. They were so excited to keep the natural environment clean and left the park with a sense of "doing good".

Share a Dream Activities this academic year

Gavcheg

Our first charitable project within the Share a Dream program has launched in October 2020. We were lucky to start cooperation with the wonderful Tashkent animal shelter Gavcheg in order to teach our children a responsible attitude towards animals.

The Gavcheg shelter is the brainchild of people who are touched by the grief of others, caring for homeless dogs and cats.

The BST-Gavcheg project was designed to fulfill the following objectives:

  • Raise awareness amongst children about the issue of stray animals in the country
  • Highlight the issues associated with looking after homeless animals on social networks
  • Develop a responsible attitude towards pets amongst school children
  • Help the Gavcheg animal shelter using the resources of the entire BST community.

Children at BST were working hard to tell the community the story of Gavcheg. On the first week we were working hard on creating pictures and photos for the shelter and wrote some important messages that everybody should know. We learned that all the living things need food, water, shelter and love. Our students showed their care in their Art works and gathered waste-paper to raise money for dog food.

In the process, we learned how to save the environment and help animals at the same time. We exchanged the wastepaper for money and bought dog food for our friends from the shelter. Children were very proud to play a central role in the fundraising activity.

We took 17 sacks of dog food and other goods to Gavcheg, which made our little friends a little happier. Students spent some time in the shelter and were happy to meet these wonderful dogs. We would like to express our gratitude to all the participants, every child drew a picture, every parent that donated food and every member of the community that demonstrated care. Together we can change the world.

We volunteered 26 hours and raised $500 for Gavcheg.

BST at Bolajon Park

BST Green Warriors BST Green Warrior helped clean up Bolanjor Park as part of AmCham's CSR committee. BST students and staff were the most active in collecting every bit of plastic, glass, metal and cardboard (even when some was covering up a well)! However, the battle scars from prickly brambles and thorny plants were rewarded - our students won the top 3 prizes which included a Spa weekend at the Hyatt, dinner for two at the Hilton and breakfast for two at the Marriott as well as green gadgets and goody bags- see video clip here.
