It has been another busy week in the Secondary section. Last weekend was our first ever Geography residential. A group of Year 9 and 10 students travelled to Ba Vi to practise their geographic skills in a real situation. The trip was extremely popular and Mr Schofield and his team ran an intense but enjoyable programme.
It seems like we have things going on 7 days a week as this weekend we have the second Saturday rehearsal for West Side Story. It is an excellent opportunity for the whole team to get together to spend the day on final preparations. This team spirit is one of the many reasons we run school productions. The ability to work as part of a team is crucial in the world of work and it is a skill competitive universities look for when students apply.
I forgot to mention last week (so much going on!) how well our students did in a Great British Vietnamese bake off at the Metropole Hotel. Our team helped the British Ambassador compete in a baking competition judged by Gary Rhodes, a famous UK chef.
We have had practical exams this week in Art and ICT. These remind us that written exam season is upon us. Exams start after the 30 April/ 1 May long weekend. Some students even have exams in the Tuesday public holiday but these dates are not controlled by us.
