Many of our Senior students are now at various stages of considering which University they would like to attend in the future. BIS Hanoi is well set up to support our students in making the correct choice of University wherever it may be in the world. We have appointed a University Guidance Counsellor (Ms Lori Fairbairn) who, along with Mr. Airdrie (Head of Sixth Form), and each Form Tutor, is able to provide great support to our Year 12 and Year 13 students. As His Excellency Mr. Giles Lever, the British Ambassador to Vietnam, said so eloquently last week, “A quality British Education does provide a bridge to Universities worldwide”. This claim was certainly proven by our 2016 graduating class who located to the following Universities:
Whilst the USA and UK were the most popular locations, it is clear that there is a distinct worldwide element to the above. One of our 2016 graduates, Le Tran Thu Thao, won a full scholarship to the value of USD100,000 to Temple University USA to study Horticulture. Thao has just written to us about her application experience and this can be read by following this link.
It is also clear that the graduating class of 2017 are following the school vision of “Be Ambitious” with regard to University applications. They are currently preparing their applications to many high quality Universities worldwide and we look forward to documenting their successes in due course.
Tradition and culture are wonderful things and I thoroughly enjoyed celebrating the Annual Moon Festival at school today. As ever, it was a day full of colour, excitement and enjoyment which really reinforced what a wonderful country we are privileged to live in. Additionally, I was so pleased to see such large numbers of parents attending our Moon Festival Assembly this morning. It was a real BIS Hanoi community event which involved students, staff and parents celebrating together. An outstanding way to end the week at BIS Hanoi.
I do hope that you all have a most wonderful weekend.
Mr Anthony Rowlands, Principal of BIS Hanoi.
