Secondary International Week at British International School Hanoi saw students looking forward to the future, recognising the importance of building a sustainable world. All secondary students spent time designing sustainable buildings which have a positive effect on the environment and some fantastic designs won some great prizes. Throughout the week, year 7, 8 and 9 were modelling the United Nations. Students planned out a future for 10 different countries where pollution was reduced, negotiated deals with other countries and got the very best deal for their country and the world. Our students are the future leaders of the world and this week has got everyone thinking about what that future should look like.
Meanwhile, our group of twelve students who will take part in the Tanzania expedition January 2018 were busy fundraising. At the BIS Hanoi International Fair they managed to raise approximately $2000 by auctioning the marvellous artwork of our students across all year groups. The money raised will be used to assist with the aid projects taking place in Tanzania lead by the Nord Anglia expeditions team.
BIS Hanoi’s commitment to Global Citizenship continues into the new year when we expect to launch our Global Citizenship Outcomes which include challenges for each year group to reported and celebrated on our school blogs. Keep your eyes peeled for more internationalism in the new year.
