Dear Parents,

Yesterday morning, my office was filled with students, teachers and trophies! What an absolute pleasure to welcome back our highly successful team of competitors that have exceeded all expectations in this year’s Under 11 FOBISIA competition. Out of 9 events, they returned with 7 gold, 1 silver and 1 bronze trophy.

The team competed in a range of sports including football, athletics, T-ball and swimming against other FOBISIA schools (Federation of British International Schools in Asia) from Singapore, Malaysia, and Thailand. We are all immensely proud of our talented athletes who have persevered through months of tough training sessions. In addition, the team should be congratulated on being excellent ambassadors for the BIS – they are a real credit to our school!

A Healthier Environment for our Students

Last week, an air quality monitor was installed on the roof of our main school building. This is providing our school with more reliable readings for air quality here in Long Bien. John Witton, our Health and Safety Coordinator is using this data to determine times when our students should remain inside instead of being active in the playgrounds.

In addition to better monitoring, we are in the process of purchasing independent air filtration units for the Early Years Centre. These will be placed in all 9 classrooms this term.

Staff leavers at the end of the year:

As we enter the final term of this academic year, it is time to announce that the following members of staff will be leaving the BIS in July. I would like to congratulate all these highly successful teachers on achieving their new appointments which will take them back to the UK and Canada, to our Nord Anglia sister schools and other International schools in the region. We will all certainly miss them here, however no goodbyes to be said as yet as we still have seven exciting weeks to go!
