Our amazing Winter Concert 2020 Thursday, 3rd December, saw over 150 students from across the school perform in our Winter Concert. This event brought together students from Year 2 through to Year 13 to share their Performing Arts learning from both ECAs and the classroom. The Auditorium was full, the audience was excited and the students rose to the occasion: without exception each ensemble performed superbly.

Thursday, 3rd December, saw over 150 students from across the school perform in our Winter Concert. This event brought together students from Year 2 through to Year 13 to share their Performing Arts learning from both ECAs and the classroom. The Auditorium was full, the audience was excited and the students rose to the occasion: without exception each ensemble performed superbly.

The concert began with a troupe of Parkour Santas, followed by the Senior Orchestra and Ukulele Club, who sang the classic All I Want for Christmas is You. The Senior Choir followed with a moving performance of The Snowman, after which came the Junior Orchestra and Brass Club, who made their concert debut with a fantastic performance of Jingle Bells.

The Primary Choir then brought the house down with Santa Claus is Coming to Town! Our fantastic Year 2 dancers came next before more rousing Christmas music from the Senior Orchestra, Senior Choir and Flute Choir.

The Performing Arts team is very proud of each and every student who performed at the Winter Concert. Everybody worked extremely hard to learn their individual parts and demonstrated patience and commitment in piecing this together with others. Their efforts resulted in a truly exceptional evening of dance, theatre and music.

An event like the Winter Concert doesn’t happen without a huge amount of teamwork from adults and students alike and I wish to thank everybody who helped put on the event. Thank you also to everybody in the school community who came to watch. It makes a huge difference to the students sharing their learning with such a supportive audience.

The concert finished with an excerpt from Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, which will be performed on Wednesday 9th and Thursday 10th of December at 6pm. Tickets are available from Reception and we hope to see you there. Next term, we are excited to start learning new repertoire and look forward to sharing this with you soon!
