Happy new year to everyone, I sincerely hope that you had a relaxing holiday.

It has been wonderful to welcome back the students and teachers to school this week, ahead of what will no doubt be another exciting and busy term.
Next week, our Year 11, 12 and 13 students will be sitting mock exams for their IGCSE and A Level courses. These exams, whilst important to prepare for, are a great opportunity for the students to understand what they need to work on further over the last few months of their
courses. We, of course, wish them the very best of luck.

Mr Brooke -Smith, last weekend, took a group of Biology A Level students to Cuc Phuong. This Ecology trip was used to do some real ecological research, and use the techniques learned in their course. It was a great success and will hopefully add to their understanding of what it means to be a scientist in the field.

We are all looking forward to the forthcoming Tet celebrations and I hope you will all be able to come to the Tet fair on January 27th. Ahead of this Ho Bao Anh, our Head Student, is selling lucky money envelopes in support of the Bup Sen Xanh Fund. This is a charitable
trust set up to support Vietnamese students to learn English, who might not otherwise be able to afford, or access, it.

Many congratulations to our Key Stage 3 and 4 Champions for the last half a term, that were announced this week. These students earned this title as they achieved the most number of achievement points between October and December. As part of their reward they will be having a special lunch in the near future.

I hope you all have a good week ahead

Mr Nick Lee
