As a Nord Anglia Education school, we had the great pleasure to be have Andy Puttock, the Global Director of Education for the whole group, here in at BVIS.
It was a superb opportunity for him to witness our school first hand and to get into every section, attending Secondary Assembly, Primary Live Lunch, getting into class and meeting the staff and students. He was very enthusiastic about all he found here – commenting on the tremendous atmosphere that prevails. He had the opportunity to direct his conversations to the wonderful Nord Anglia collaborations that exist – Juilliard, MIT and UNICEF – but also to provide comments about the strategic direction for Global Campus a platform that provides students with growing opportunity for worldwide collaboration in both educational projects and collaboration between students in Nord Anglia schools in other countries.
Having witnessed the strength of student leadership during the assembly and the tremendous English levels as students spoke publicly about their participation in school events and initiatives, Andy Puttock said: “it takes me just a few minutes to realise when I am in a great school. I am in a great school today, and what makes it great is the strength of the support students have for one another to build engagement.”
We are very proud of what the students achieve, their development of their English levels and the confidence to express those ideas with passion and clarity. This is true for all participating students regardless of nationality. Congratulations to all, and my thanks to Andy Puttock for taking the time out of his busy schedule to come to visit our school. There is, in my view, little that is more important than seeing the schools at work: it provides proof of excellence and helps shape the initiatives in the future for all of our students.
