Thirty students, four teachers and a team of supporting family members all started their journey to Thanyapura resort in Phuket, for the U13 FOBISIA games, early on 28th February. In the run up to the U13 FOBISIA games the students trained hard and demonstrating commitment to their team.

The U13 games kick started when team captains Nhu Y and Anh Duc lead BVIS Dragons in the opening ceremony down to poolside for the first competition, of what was set to be 3 days of tough and exciting sporting competition. In the swimming there were some close races but congratulations must go to Maika and Gia Ngoc who were rewarded for their efforts with bronze medals in their races. In the afternoon the team took to the athletics track and performed exceptionally well, finishing 4th overall and taking home 15 medals, including 5 golds.

The following 2 days saw the team take to the football pitch and basketball court. Throughout the whole competition all teams stayed in contention to win a medal. What impressed me the most was how our students demonstrated the ability to fight back hard when games were close or when they were losing. Their mental toughness was outstanding and something that the team had been working on prior to competing.

The final results were: Girls football 3rd, Girls basketball 5th, Boys football and basketball 4th.

We are extremely proud of all the students who competed and of all their achievements.

Well done. Dragons on 3 …!
