Respect and Caring
These are two of our BVIS Personal Goals and they have been greatly evidenced over the course of this week. As an international visitor to Vietnam, I am overwhelmed by the high regard for educators held by all members of the community, which of course makes the task of teaching children even more gratifying. On Teacher’s Day, we were made to feel special and appreciated because our parents and children went to such great lengths to thank us for our efforts. We are privileged to have been given the opportunity to nurture the children at BVIS and thank our parents for their unwavering support.
Respect goes both ways, and we acknowledged our children on World Children’s Day, November 20th, during an assembly that highlighted their role in working together to promote international togetherness, awareness and improving the welfare of others. Our recent drive to collect funds and goods to support the flooding in Central Vietnam through SCDI (Center for Supporting Community Development Initiatives) was a prime opportunity to raise their awareness of people in need and engage their support. We have had an outstanding response to this initiative; thank you for your contributions.
