We would like to highlight the Hub this week with information about the first outdoor trip that we take after a long time of VSE
The Year 9 students have enjoyed their first school trip this week in two years. In their Geography Humanities lessons, the students have been learning about Community Service and the importance of helping those in the community who need our help.
The students went out this week to the Floating Village on the Red River to meet the locals, talk to them and walk around the area so they could understand what they can do to help. The community here live on the water and need our help.
The students have finished the trip with enhanced knowledge and understanding and they are going to return to the village in a few weeks, once they’ve planned what they will do to undertake their community service. Ideas from the students already include gardening, cleaning, and painting and they already have great ideas of how to raise money to invest in improvements in the infrastructure.
The students were well behaved and hugely engaged throughout the trip. Well done, Year 9 and we can’t wait for our return visit!
