Jessica Jones

Jessica Jones

Year 4 Teacher

  • PGCE, University of Wales, Bangor, UK
  • BA (Hons) Sociology and Popular Culture, University of Wales Institute, Cardiff, UK

Jessica completed her PGCE in rural north Wales. Having grown up and then trained as a teacher in a bilingual environment she was keen to continue working with children who had a range of EAL needs. After completing her PGCE, she moved to north London and worked as a supply teacher for three months, gaining experience in all year groups from Nursery to Year 6. Securing a position as a PPA cover teacher meant that Jessica had the comfort of working in one school but still gaining a wide range of experience by covering all age ranges and working one-to-one to help children struggling with reading, writing, or mathematics. She was given her own Year 3 class and had two happy years there. She led the school Ecology Club and Newspaper Club and took great delight in growing their own vegetables and keeping the student body informed with all the best stories! Her next position was a step onto the International teaching circuit leading to three years teaching the IPC in Mexico City. She is very excited about a move to Vietnam, a country that greatly interested her when she travelled around the world ten years ago.

In her spare time Jessica enjoys travelling, experiencing new cultures, scuba diving, cycling, swimming, live music and reading.
