Emma is a competent artist with real life experiences of working in this lively, varied industry. She worked in the healthcare sector for a number of years using her knowledge of design and understanding of human perceptions to enhance hospital environments and improve patient, staff and visitor experiences. She also worked on a freelance basis as an arts’ coordinator in the Southwest of the UK, working with local schools, galleries and arts practitioners.
Emma completed her degree and PGCE in Plymouth before moving to Hampshire to teach in a large comprehensive secondary school. Here she became an A Level course leader and taught art and textiles across the school.
Emma has a strong interest in philosophy and critical and contemporary art practices which are reflected in her personal practice. She is passionate about encouraging students to create meaningful work that develops their practical skills and extends the process of enquiry.
In her spare time, Emma enjoys yoga, travelling, visiting art galleries, films and reading.
