It’s been another exceptionally busy week in secondary, as many of our staff make final preparations for Trips and Mock Exams Week next week.
On Monday, we had a visitor from the University of the Arts in London working with our A level artists. She was incredibly impressed with the quality of their work, and many of them intend to study art next year at university.
The year 12 AS art group also undertook a gruelling three day mock exam in preparation for the real thing this coming May.
On Wednesday, we welcomed representatives from 12 UK universities at our first ever hosting of the UK University Roadshow. It was a timely reminder for students, ahead of their mock exams next week, what exactly they need to do in preparation for the next stage of their academic career.
UK University Roadshow
Year 11, 12 and 13 students will be working hard next week on those mock exams, and we wish them every success. Meanwhile, years 7 to 10 will be having a rather different time in Mui Ne, Hoi An, Dalat and Siem Reap respectively. A massive thank you in advance to all those members of staff who will be getting very little sleep next week! But a special thank you to Mr Shooter, Mr Williams, Mr Gunn and Mr Reid for all their organisational skills in arranging these fantastic opportunities for the students. A special mention as well must go to Ms Linh for all the background administration that is so vital. I look forward to reading the blogs each day!
This Saturday, all of our teachers from across the school will be in for an extra day to take part in training delivered by Guy Claxton, an esteemed educator and trainer from the UK. Theses another opportunity for staff to further improve lessons and learning experiences for all of our young peoplehttp://www.tloltd.co.uk/building-learning-power/professor-guy-claxton/
Have a wonderful weekend!
Ha Xuan Vi Vien, 10V – fantastic work in iGCSE drama, despite starting the course later than others in the group.
