School Trips

Learning takes place everywhere and through BVIS’s program of excursions and trips, your child will have the opportunity to enhance their school life and learning experience in a well-planned and safe way.

BVIS trips are designed to be suitable with each age group and allow them to develop teamwork skills, social communication as well as understand the community and lives of those around them.

EYFS and Primary Trips

School trips typically complement the curriculum and are designed to enhance your child's learning so children from F1 to Year 3 may visit a zoo or attend a circus performance to explore the world of animals or discover hidden treasures in a historical museum.

Students learn independence through an overnight activity, sleeping at school, a place which does not look like their home. This helps them to develop confidence in joining longer trips in upper year groups.

From Year 4, your child will attend day-long residential trips to help them reinforce what they have learnt in class and prepare for their future life. Students travel to farther locations in Vietnam such as Long Hai, Mekong Delta and Hoi An to take a look at the tourism industry and important features within Vietnam.

Secondary Trips

From Year 7 to Year 9 students have opportunities to learn about tourism in Phan Thiet, and visit popular places in the South, Muni Ne, Dalat, and Hoi An.

Year 10 students cross over the border of Vietnam to Cambodia to explore Indochina culture and apply lessons learnt in history, culture, tourism and food. During the trip, they participate in community project such as serving at Little Angels Shelter.

In Year 11, students attend a field trip to Mui Ne, which is an important part in their IGCSE program. By Year 12, students’ trips shall focus on opportunities to explore and experience teamwork and leadership skills and development.

Fees of annual trips of each year group are included in tuition fee.

Optional Trips

In addition to the compulsory trips above, we provide our students with a range of optional trips to facilitate further learning across sport, music, culture, maths, STEAM (in cooperation with MIT), and student forums with global challenges.

BVIS is also officially part of Duke of Edinburgh International Award, which is an adventurous journey for students from Year 10 to 12 who have finished their Gold, Silver or Bronze Prize. The program is aimed to challenge their abilities and survival skills.

In order to support a Tanzanian local community, children are invited to participate in fundraising activities, provide classrooms for Tanzanian students and lodges for Primary teachers. The cross-cultural trip also includes a two-day visit to safari where students have unforgettable opportunities observing wild animals on Africa’s plains and learning about the importance of conservation in a real and impactful way.

A progression in residential experiences is provided at BVIS, beginning in Year 3 with a sleepover in the school’s sports hall. Year 4 children and upwards travel further afield to a variety of destinations in Vietnam such as Long Hai, Hoi An and Dalat.

Primary and Secondary students also have the opportunity to participate in events and competitions overseas with other international schools through our partnerships with FOBISIA and Nord Anglia Education.
