In order to create an optimal learning environment, it is essential that children are happy, healthy and safe. We are firmly committed to creating a space that fosters students’ social, emotional and physical well-being so they can achieve their full potential.
Productive young bodies and minds require appropriate fuel and healthy habits are formed from a young age. Our teaching staff encourage nutritious eating within the classroom and work closely with families in support of this.
Staying active and taking part in physical activity is an important part of every child’s development. Physical Education (PE) classes are held daily in Early Years and twice weekly in Primary. We are equipped with extensive sporting facilities including football and basketball courts along with a large gymnasium. IPC has a strong emphasis on playing outdoors in order to facilitate learning, with an indoor/outdoor philosophy that makes full use of our expansive green areas.
As part of our commitment to child-centred education, we employ a number of holistic initiatives to nurture and encourage further development in our students. Our professional teachers use a variety of methods including morning exercise, yoga in the classroom and breathing exercises to keep children focussed and attuned to their own individual needs so they can achieve their very best results.
Safety and security
We take security seriously and have developed a range of programmes in place to ensure your child’s health and safety:
- All teachers and support staff must undergo and comply with stringent Nord Anglia Education Health and Safety and Child Protection requirements prior to employment. Student health and safety is a primary concern and is managed in partnership with experts in this field.
- NAS Jakarta is protected by a 24 hour security system and a team of 10 security guards. Access to our secure facilities is only permitted to NAS Jakarta families and staff via a steel boom gate and all vehicles are required to undergo a security screening performed by trained guards. Access to the campus is controlled by check-in and use of identification badges is required for any visitors.
- NAS Jakarta also has comprehensive procedures in place to address any potential situations including fire, earthquake and lock-down. Faculty and students regularly practice these emergency response drills across the year.
