Shaun Rhodes : Staff Profile

Shaun Rhodes

Primary Years Coordinator

Shaun Rhodes has a Teaching Degree from the University of East London. He Joined NIS in 2017 from the British International School Shanghai, Puxi, where he was a teacher and member of the Middle Leadership team. BISS Puxi was a Nord Anglia Education school so Shaun is already familiar with the unique opportunities that being part of the NAE family bring for students and staff.

Shaun is a highly motivated educator, committed to helping young people become resilient life-long learners. He values mastery of knowledge and skills while also encouraging children to become critical thinkers and global citizens. Shaun believes in a holistic approach to education and supporting children to have the confidence to find and follow their passions. Shaun currently leads on STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts & Maths).

Having qualified as a teacher in 2005, Shaun spent two years teaching in Tower Hamlets, East London before embarking on an international teaching journey. Shaun taught for three years at The Regents School, Thailand, a year in Kuwait at The Gulf English School and for six years at The British International School, Shanghai where he was part of the management team. He joined the NIS team in August 2018.

Shaun enjoys spending time with his family, wife Samantha, son Jamie and dog Penelope. He is an avid rugby supporter and coach, enjoys hiking in nature when he can and learning to cook recipes and dishes from around the world.
