Biography
Julia has a degree in Education from Goldsmiths University, London where she studied as a mature student. She has also completed units towards a Masters in Effective Teaching and Learning. She has 16 years experience as a teacher and school leader.
After a break in her career to look after her children, Julia returned to University to complete a degree in Education at Goldsmiths University. She then successfully gained a position at a local primary school in England where she has taught for the last 16 years. Julia has taught in different year groups across the school and held subject responsibilities for Design and Technology, ICT and Maths .
After 5 years as a class teacher Julia was appointed as Assistant Head and later promoted to the position of Deputy Head. Julia has led on many areas across the school but predominantly in the development of mathematics and assessment.
Julia is now ready for a new professional challenge. She is looking forward to joining the NIS team, and very excited to be part of an international school community. She is motivated to share her expertise and support NIS to be a great school for all our students.
In her spare time, Julia loves to read both for pleasure and to enrich and broaden her classroom pedagogy. She also swims regularly and scuba dives when the opportunity arises.
