Jonathan Scott

Jonathan Scott

Music Teacher

CertHE (Trumpet Performance), Trinity College of Music

BMus (Hons) (Music), Royal Holloway University of London

PGCE (Secondary Music), Bath Spa University

Jonathan grew up in a musical family and at a young age began playing cornet in the village brass band. Since then he has enjoyed performing on Trumpet at world-class venues such as the Royal Albert Hall, Birmingham Symphony Hall, and Jakarta Jazz Festival and has been involved with musical ensembles ranging from symphony orchestras to blues bands.

Jonathan has spent the majority of his life within music education, receiving his musical training at Wells Cathedral School, Trinity College of Music and Royal Holloway University of London. In 2012 he followed his passion for both to the British International School, Ho Chi Minh City, which gave him an insight into the world of international education and left him enthralled by Vietnam and South-East Asia. Jonathan then returned England where he gained Postgraduate Certificate in Education at Bath Spa University before moving to teach in Dorset, southwest of England. Joining BIS Hanoi in 2016, Jonathan feels privileged to work in a tremendously dedicated and active department and enjoys enabling each and every student to experience and enjoy music as part of their education.
