Matters arising from 29 September meeting:

  • Parking area – signage is now visible around the parking lot area; cars entering the campus must have the Driver Guidelines; a proactive security team is in place to ensure smooth traffic flow and proper parking
  • Schedules for drama, LEAP and sports activities have been coordinated; an overview of out of school offerings for Primary and Secondary will be shared on the school website in due course

Discussion Points:

INTERNATIONAL DAY 2020

This year's International Day celebrations on 28 October will begin with a flag parade, show a video of pre-recorded performances and have a Global Village of stalls manned by our parents and staff that will show each country’s culture.

The plan is to also live stream the pre-recorded video on the school Facebook page, so parents can watch remotely.

OPENING OF CAFETERIA SERVICE

In November the school will again request the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport (MoEYS) for permission to restart the Cafeteria and Bus Services.

IB EXAMS

Will there be IB exams this year? The school will share an update from the IB with Grade 12 parents.

AQUATIC CENTRE

The school is pleased to announce that construction work has resumed at the Aquatics Centre and work is expected to be completed in 6 weeks. Mr Richard also reminded the community that the Center will be for school use only.

WINTER FORMAL

The school leadership team are still deciding whether to push through with the annual student Winter Formal on 4 December or move this event to January or February.

SWIM KITS

It was suggested that the swim team have their own towels with the school logo. Mr Richard acknowledged that this was a good idea, and said that the school would look into it.

EL/KG PICK UP BY NANNIES/DRIVERS

  • Mr Richard confirmed that the handover of EL and KG students is always managed by school staff. Students line up and are released to their nannies/drivers after proper verification of IDs.
  • For nannies/drivers no longer employed, it is important that parents take back their school IDs and immediately inform the school for further action.

ARE STUDENTS ALLOWED TO WALK HOME FROM SCHOOL?

At the beginning of every school year, each student is given a folder which contains a Dismissal form. On it, the parent can tick the box “my child is permitted to walk home from school”.
