JC Trowt, joined the school in 2015. Currently Mr. Trowt is the primary EAL specialist. Mr. Trowt has been teaching English, History, and Science for over 14 years.
Mr. Trowt holds a Telecommunications/Data-communications Certificate (1999) from Siemens Business Communications where he was a Project Manager and Engineer for 6 years. He graduated from the University of Michigan with a Baccalaureate in History and English Literature with a Concentration in Writing in 2004. He was also a member of the Sigma Tau Delta Honors and Phi Alpha Theta honors societies for English and History respectively. Mr. Trowt published his first academic article in “Meeting of the Minds” for the university in 2003 and was subsequently honored with the Flint Scholar award the same year. In 2006 he received his graduate degree in Secondary Education with endorsements in English and History. In 2013 Mr. Trowt also completed his TEFL-C Certification. He has worked in a variety of schools, teaching from primary to college level settings. Mr. Trowt joined our Leman team after teaching in Tianjin, China for a year and a half. Currently, Mr. Trowt attends King’s College – London completing a Master’s degree in International Education. Since joining Léman, Mr. Trowt has helped to facilitate the Cross Country clubs and programs.
Outside of Léman, Mr. Trowt enjoys family life in Chengdu with his wife Molly and daughter Ivy. He enjoys traveling, running, hiking and the outdoor life. He also enjoys researching a myriad of subjects namely Afro-Caribbean histories, Enlightenment philosophies, Austrian economics, Libertarian politics, and poetry. Overall, Mr. Trowt loves his life in China, but especially the spicy Chengdu food.
