Originally from the UK, Sam joined Léman in 2019. He is a teacher of English throughout the Secondary years, in both English Language Acquisition and English Literature. He has worked in this field for over 20 years.
Since graduating from the University of Bradford with a Bachelors Degree in Electronic and Electrical Engineering in 1995, Sam went on to specialize in English teaching with a CELTA, then a PGCE, and more recently the Cambridge DELTA. His teaching experience began in the UK, teaching at Primary, Secondary and Tertiary levels before moving overseas. Internationally, he has taught in Malaysia, and most recently in Brunei for 9 years. During this time, he also qualified and worked as an IELTS examiner.
Outside of normal teaching, Sam has enjoyed writing and performing music, as well as having received training in Tai Chi, Yoga and Kung Fu for over 10 years. He is always keen on running clubs related to this, and the benefits they bring to anyone practicing it.
Sam is enjoying living and working in China, and the challenges it brings. He has always loved working in language teaching, and the way he can share and learn from different cultures.
