Niki Meehan

Niki Meehan | Principal | NIS Jakarta


Niki Meehan has worked in the field of education for over 20 years and has held a range of teaching and school leadership positions in the UK and overseas. She takes up the post of Principal at NIS Jakarta in January 2018, relocating from a Nord Anglia Education school in China.


BEd. (Hons) from Edinburgh University (UK) | Post Graduate Certificate in Education (Primary Education) from Strathclyde University (UK)


Niki Meehan is a highly-experienced teacher and education leader whose career spans over twenty years and several counties, including Spain, China, Vietnam, Thailand and Eritrea. She also understands what makes for a great Nord Anglia Education School, having served as Vice-Principal of the British International School Shanghai, Puxi and Head of Primary at the British School of Bratislava, Slovakia – both leading NAE schools.

Niki joins NIS Jakarta direct from our school in Shanghai in January 2018, but has been closely involved in the planning and development for NIS since it joined Nord Anglia Education in May 2017.

Niki is very active and enjoys a wide range of sports, especially walking, swimming and yoga. She has coached many sports teams and gets great satisfaction from motivating young people to challenge themselves through sport and outdoor education. As a fanatical knitter and crafter, she likes to express her creativity and always has a project on the go. Niki is married with two daughters.
