    Alf Collett

    Alf earned his teaching degree at the University of the West of England, Bristol, where he also graduated with his first degree, in Sociology. He joins NIS in 2019 from Charter International School in Bangkok, where he was a teacher and Key Stage 2 coordinator.

    Brentan Schilling

    Brent, called “Mister. S.”, by his students, is an enthusiastic teacher, musician and sportsman from Australia. While not always a teacher, he is glad he made the decision to dedicate himself to sharing the joy of learning with his students. Brent is a classically trained singer who loves an Italian aria or two, but also enjoys playing instruments, particularly the Piano and Guitar. He brings energy to his classes and is a sensitive educator after 8 years living in different countries. Brent always encourages children to be reflective and respectful learners. He is excited to join the NAE team and contribute to the performing arts program.

    Gina Starkey has a teaching degree from Lancaster University. She has spent the last 16 years teaching at the International School of the Hague. This school is also an IPC (International Primary Curriculum) school and Gina has been involved with the coordinating of the IPC curriculum for the last 5 years.

    Hayley Lorenzo

    Hayley graduated with a BA Honours in Early Childhood and Family Studies in 2010. After graduation, Hayley found a desire to help early years-age pupils during a fundamental time in their development, so she decided to train for early year’s teacher status and qualified as a teacher in 2015 at University of Wolverhampton in the UK.  Hayley taught in Early Years for 3 years before moving into Further Education to teach adults.

    Heather McKay

    Heather McKay is truly an international teacher. Born and brought up in Canada, she studied in the UK, gaining her Teaching Degree from the University of Glasgow before teaching in Egypt and then Kenya. She is excited to be joining NIS from Braeburn School in Nairobi, Kenya.

    Louise Hudson

    Louise Hudson has a Teaching Degree from the University of Brighton, England. She will join NIS in August 2019 from Mile Oak Primary School, England, where she is a teacher and Early Years and Key Stage One music co-ordinator. Louise has previously worked at the International School of Breda, Netherlands. She is looking forward to working internationally again at the NIS and becoming part of the NAE family.

    P. J. Loughran has a Post Graduate Certificate in Education from the University of Ulster. He has been working in Latvia for the past two years at King’s College, The British School of Latvia, where he was a Year 4 teacher and most recently at The International School of Latvia teaching the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Program in a Grade 3 class.

    Sophie joins the NIS team from Brisbane, Australia. She has a Bachelor Degree in Primary Education from the Queensland University with a major in Special Education Support. She is also a qualified Graphic Designer who has graduated from Shillington College, Australia. Her approach to teaching is inextricably linked to the passion she has for traveling and for art and design. Sophie thrives on creating hands-on, diverse and globally relevant learning experiences to engage and inspire children preparing them to be the best they can be beyond the classroom.
