Year 9 Art Work

Students in Year 9 have just completed a project titled: "The Eccentricities of Yangon Architecture." The main artist reference for this project was Gillian Ayres, an abstract British painter famous for her lively, vibrant and playful aesthetic. All year 9 students formulated a digital sketchbook that journeyed through a variety of aspects of our home city, Yangon. All students looked at and analysed a soundscape created by Burmese artists in conjunction with the Goethe Institute, Yangon, using their work as stimuli and inspiration for group discussions and idea generation. Students took influence from maps and aerial views of the city to be able to create this Virtual School Experience art project.
