Absence and Emergency School Contact System

It's vitally important the school is informed if your child will be absence from school or will be unable to attend his/her ECA/BISCAP activity.

Reporting Absence

For those times when your children are unavoidably absent from school, please contact our receptionist, by email of phone, before 0900 on each day of absence.

The contact details are as follows:

Tel: 52263211 ext 1801

Email: secondaryabsence@bisspuxi.com

It is also useful to let your child’s Form Tutor aware via email – their contact details are available under Teachers & Staff from the home page of the school’s website.

After School Contact System

We are very proud that large numbers of our students take part in our extensive ECA and BISCAP programmes which take place after the end of the normal school day.

Our Reception Desks are open each day until 5pm, when most of our ECAs have finished, so this is the best number to contact for any issues regarding students attending ECAs. The school number is listed below with other useful contact numbers.

After 5pm, there are a small number of ECA and BISCAP programmes which take place at the school.  For all BISCAP programmes, you should already have a contact number from the organisations that run sessions at the school.  If you do not, please contact Abigail Yao at the school and she will be able to provide the correct details for your son or daughter’s coach.

In the case of an emergency after 5pm there are key school staff who will be able to help you outside our regular school hours.  Please direct your call accordingly.  We have a communication tree so that we can quickly contact staff (teachers and coaches) running ECAs and respond quickly to concerns or situations.  Their contact details are below:

School Receptions (until 5pm)

  • 021 5226 3211 Ext 1801 (Secondary)
  • 021 5226 3211 Ext 1502 (Primary)

Mr Thomas Hitchings, ECA (5-6.30pm)

  • 185 16654137

Mr Michael Dunphy, BISCAP (5-7.30pm)

  • 139 17642404

Miss Kerry Li, Bus Transport (until 6:30pm)

  • 185 16654984

Ms Ashley Lui, Site Facilities (until 7pm)

  • 185 2177 5615

If you cannot reach staff on their mobile numbers please email Andrew Lancaster, Nick Rickford and Paul Kelly for support

All students waiting to be collected by parents or carers, as well as those waiting for the later bus to Gubai (5.30-6pm) will be directed to wait in the reception area in the secondary school.

Other areas of the secondary school will have restricted access to discourage students from going to places that are not directly supervised.

It is essential that we are able to guarantee the safety of children in our care through effective communication channels and this system is designed to allow this to happen.  It should only be used for genuine emergencies that are urgent and cannot wait until the following day. Please follow the normal school channels for any other enquiries.
