After just 3 weeks they are already playing duets together, learning how to read the notes on the music and making a beautiful sound (most of the time!)
This has been a tough task for the students, especially those who have never had the opportunity to learn an instrument before, however they are progressing very quickly in such a short space of time and they all should be very proud of themselves for showing such persistence and concentration.
The students told us what they thought of this new instrument:
“I am enjoying trying my best to know how to play the flute but I have found it difficult to make a proper sound instead of a blowing sound. I would like to carry on and learn more notes." - Vini
“I have enjoyed playing the flute because I find it really fun getting to learn how to play a new instrument. At first I found it very difficult to make a sound, but with practice I managed to do it.” - Ethan
“I have enjoyed playing the flute because it’s a new experience and a great, fun way to learn different things. I have found blowing into the mouthpiece hard because you need lots of air and sometimes you run out. I would like to learn new pieces so I can keep playing.” - Harmony
“I have enjoyed learning the flute especially because it’s a new instrument that I have never played before. I realised learning the flute isn’t easy because you need to concentrate on the breathing and the fingering as well, but I have already learnt the notes A and B and their fingering.” - Julietta
