The event commenced at 7am and concluded at 5pm, with non-stop live music played continuously in the new Primary Gallery and the Secondary Auditorium.
Students from across the whole school entertained parents, peers and teachers with some outstanding musical renditions including pieces from Mozart, The Beatles, Abba, Lloyd Webber and Lady Gaga! The Performances encompassed a very wide range of instruments from Ocarina to Accordion, Piano to Ukulele, and ‘Cello to Triangle.
One of the most enjoyable parts about being a musician is making music together. Friday was an excellent example of this. It was a real pleasure to see so many students appreciating each other’s performances, joining together to perform and generally loving music. We hope that it has inspired even more students to explore their passion for music and to continue to experience the exciting experiences that it can offer.
Here’s what some of the students thought of the day:
‘I really did enjoy everyone. It was really cool because everyone was singing together and it made me cheerful’ Asia Carra, Year 4
‘What a pleasure it was to see students, staff and parents coming together under the name of music’ Mr Lewis
‘It was lots of fun and very loud!’ George Yu, Year 1
Well done to everyone who took part in this special day of music making!
