Year 1 Get Creative With 3D

10 september 2015

Our Year 1 group have enjoyed a fantastic week with lots of exciting activities taking place in the classroom.

We have been learning all about our 5 senses and how to keep our bodies healthy. Some students became doctors in the role play area and wrote lots of healthy shopping lists for our ‘restaurant’.

We have also been using our body parts to look, listen, feel, taste and smell. When tasting and describing the different types of fruit, we came up with lots of exciting vocabulary, including- sweet, sour, crunchy, juicy and smooth.

One of our favourite activities was learning all about the artist Giuseppe Arcimboldo. He used lots of different plants and foods to create his paintings and sculptures and so we created our own 3D portraits using fruits and vegetables. We hope you like our work.
