Year 1 & 2 Art Exhibition

28 juni 2016

Last week, parents and children from across the school were given the opportunity to come and view a piece of artwork from children in Years 1 & 2.

Each child had chosen a piece of work that they were particularly proud of from Term 3.

The Year 2 artwork was linked to their topic this term ‘Rainforests’. During this topic, children were given the opportunity to learn about the rainforest and rainforest animals, as well as develop their sketching, 3-D modelling and collage skills.

The Year 1 artwork was linked to their ‘Plants & Insects’ topic. The children learnt how to use clay to make insects and snails. They also developed their sketching and painting skills through creating an Eric Carle inspired illustration and careful plants sketches.

Their artwork looks fantastic and will be on display for the remainder of the term. If you haven’t had the opportunity to view the exhibition yet, you’re welcome to view the work outside of Stage 1.
