Sports Report

28 augustus 2017

Saturday the 26 of August can be recorded on the calendar as the first competitive day in the BISS Lions programme 2017/18.  The U19 boys and girls division 1 volleyball teams played a five set match against their DCS counterparts.

The games started off slowly for both the Lions teams who were well beaten in their respective first sets; a clear indication that they had come into the weekend with no training sessions under their belt.  Still learning each other’s names and abilities on court the teams began to gel and performances increased. During set two the boys raised their game considerably, injecting energy and superb decision making to lead from start to finish not allowing the DCS Boys to dominate like they did in the previous set. The girls continued their slow start but their potential was clear to see.

BISS Lions Girls improve in their match play across the final three sets to take the win three sets to two; leaving the court with confidence. The Boys match was a close encounter in each of the latter sets with score lines finishing within two points each time.  They lost the match overall, three games to one, but can rest assured their progress and attitude was excellent across the day.  We look forward to next week’s Shanghai Cup where the boys and girls will face the highest ranking teams in the city in a one off tournament at SAS Puxi starting Friday afternoon and running into Saturday Morning, we hope to see you there.
