We had a dazzling array of singing and dancing performances, including dragon dances, our Julliard-inspired orchestras and choirs and a range of bands and individual performances of Chinese songs and dances. Our Chinese parents performed a stunning fan dance.

Our pupils had the opportunity to experience Chinese cultural activities such as calligraphy, lantern- and jewellery- making and fan painting. They also explored science and Chinese culture by making sparklers and doing ‘fire writing’. Children thoroughly enjoyed doing a dog make-over by making ears, a tail and having their face painted and taking part in some dog agility obstacle races.

Asian food was provided by external vendors and our own Chinese parents and we had a wide array of other cultural activities. We raised over 10,000 RMB for the Huaxin Rehabilitation Centre, with special thanks to the Chinese parents for their food stall.

We would like to thank the Mandarin, marketing  and music departments at BISS , the Language Leaders, the Chinese parents and all those who performed and contributed to making this a success.

We have had a full week of other cultural activities and a magnificent performance of the dragon dance in primary to end of the week.
