Week Beginning 20 June 2016

MESSAGES

  • Clothes donations – We would really appricate any clothes you can donate to school for our spare clothes. We are running very low particularly with underwear, socks and shorts. Any support with this would be much appreciated. Thank you.
  • Class party –  Nursery class party will happen on Tuesday 28th June. Please liaise with your room parent if you have any more questions. Thanks.
  • Junk modelling resources – We continue to welcome any junk modelling resource donations such as cereal boxes, bottles and cardboard.

LEARNING THEME “Magic”

This week is activity week in Nursery and we really have a lot of exciting things happening. The Nursery children will be sharing some of the stories of “Winnie the Witch” and learning all about her magical adventures and suprises. On Monday Winnie will even visit us from her home in Zombart to introduce the story with passion and magic! She will have her pet cat Wilma by her side. This will link beautifully when our special visitor – a magician –  arrives on Friday.

UNDERSTANDING THE WORLD

Talking about magic and what  magic is, the children will be encouraged to explore and create potions. Using their knowlged of mixing and measuring different ingredients, the children will create their own potions for different magic spells, writing and drawing their ingredients and the suprises they will make.

Key vocabulary: mix, wet, dry, more, less, sticky, slimey, sparkles, ingredients.

LITERACY

The Nursery children will be celebrating Mr. Foyle’s time at  BISS Puxi by hosting a farewell party for him on Thursday. In preparation for this, all of the Nursery children will be creating a piece of writing / mark making to go towards a book for Mr. Foyle. Each child will be encourage to draw upon their writing and imaginative skills to create their perfect picture.

Key vocabulary: “Good luck”,” Best wishes”, Switzerland, chololate, farewell, goodbye.

DUTCH

We begin stilaan aan de afronding van een geweldig schooljaar.  Deze week zullen we samen foto`s en filmpjes van het voorbije jaar bekijken.  We bezoeken het SDS circus, vieren feest met Jules en lezen Mannetje Koek. 

Na het bezoek van tandarts  Bram ronden we ons lichaamsboek af.  Kan jij  je eigen ogen, haar, neus  en mond terugvinden?
