- No electronic devices should be brought, except mobile phones which will be collected by staff and available for the children to use some time between 8:15pm and 9pm. Children are expected to return to school at 4pm on Friday 12 June. This will be after school buses leave so please make sure your child knows about the arrangements for their pick up.
- Any medicines should be clearly marked with the child’s name and class and given to the group leader with the accompanying medication form already sent home.

This week in Literacy students will complete a variety of tasks during Guided Reading sessions and will continue with work on persuasive arguments.
In Maths this week the children will continue their work on comparing fractions, decimals and percentages.
In Themed Learning this week, continuing our work on Propaganda posters, students will be developing their concepts and ideas using the design program ‘Gimp’. Students will be learning how to use layering techniques and vector drawings to produce a Space propaganda poster.
In Science students will be investigating magnetic forces by looking at the patterns that these generate around planets and by polar magnets. We will be investigating attraction and repulsion between magnets and different strengths of magnets. We will also look at the protective effects of the Earth’s magnetic field.
In PSHCE this term we will be looking at teamwork and collaborative working. We will focus further on fostering new relationships, creating rules and expectations for the group and how to work together successfully.

De ‘Hoe-overleef-ik-Azië-gids’ begint al echt vorm te krijgen. De komende weken werken de leerlingen zelfstandig aan het afronden van hun artikelen.
De komende twee weken worden de Cito-toetsen afgenomen. U kunt uw zoon en/of dochter niet voor deze toetsen voorbereiden. De toetsen meten de voortgang die de leerling gemaakt heeft op het gebied van spelling, woordenschat en technisch lezen in de afgelopen 4 maanden. Zorg er wel voor dat uw kind goed uitgerust is.

Year 5 French - Mrs Rae
Next week in French we will finish our unit on food and ordering in a restaurant. We will create short skits, ordering food and drink, asking for the bill and giving change. We will try and video these to send home to parents! We will also complete our cookery book with menus.
Homework this week: Find a traditional French recipe that you would like to include in our cookery book. Please either write it out or print it and remember to bring to Monday’s lesson. You could also decorate it and draw pictures if you wish.
