For 1 week, we will be completing MIT challenges in the Da Vinci Centre. This year the topic for the MIT challenges is Greener Skies. We will be using the design thinking process to help us design a plane using various types of paper. We will compare the flight of these and see if we make the plane more effective and travel a further distance. This is linked in with our thinking of how travelling by plane has an impact on our environment and the world around us.

We will be using the EV3 robots in the Da Vinci to build a space buggy. We will then use the software on the laptops to program the buggies around obstacle courses, enhancing our programming language skills.

This term our new PSHCE / well-being program will begin.  The first core value covered is collaboration.  This is the ability to work constructively with others, and children will learn to negotiate, to resolve conflicts, and to support agreed solutions. In doing so, they will strengthen their sense of teamwork and realize where they lack certain skills; which they can later hone.

Collaboration, groups, teamwork, skills
