After completing an undergraduate Bachelor’s Degree in Biochemistry at the University of Reading, Yasmin became an Assistant Director at a national children’s tuition centre. As part of this role, she delivered workshops to over 100 schools around Leicestershire and ran The National Young Mathematician’s Award, which was supported by the NRICH project at the University of Cambridge. It was in this role she discovered her love for teaching. She went on to gain a PGCE with a specialism in Lower Primary at the University of Leicester, which is one of the top 10 teacher training institutions in the UK.
Since qualifying in 2016, Yasmin has worked across EYFS. In her time teaching, she has been a Year Leader in Nursery, worked as a Healthy Schools Leader and PSHE Lead.Yasmin's ethos as a teacher is that every child deserves the best learning experience to ensure they reach their potential academically, physically and socially. She is extremely passionate about working in EYFS as she finds nothing more fulfilling than nurturing children’s development and wellbeing. An integral role in her practice is providing children with high quality teaching, allowing them to flourish and grow. Yasmin places a great emphasis on a growth mindset culture in the classroom and instilling core values such as honesty and integrity. Yasmin decided that teaching internationally was something she always wanted to pursue in her life after experiencing teaching English in a school in Romania.
In her spare time, she has taught herself how to play the ukulele. She can now play simple songs with confidence. Yasmin enjoys nothing more then travelling around the world with her wonderful husband. They enjoy cooking together, particularly exciting new foods that they have tried when on their travels.
