Robert attended the University of Derby and in 2011 graduated with a 2.1 degree in Mathematics with Education Studies (Hons). Shortly after graduating Robert was hired by Bombardier Transportation as an assistant for the bid to build and service trains for London Crossrail, the largest engineering project in Europe. His responsibilities included cost modelling, operations modelling, project planning and statistical analysis.
Robert soon discovered that his interests lay elsewhere and decided to pursue a career in teaching. Motivated by his desire to improve the life chances of young people, he completed his initial teacher training at Thomas Telford school, widely regarded as one of the top performing Secondary schools in England. Throughout his two years here he became a highly valued member of the Mathematics department teaching high achieving pupils across all year groups. Excited by the challenge of living overseas and teaching international pupils, Robert is delighted to now join us here at BISS Puxi.
Robert enjoys travelling to new places and experiencing the diversities of different histories and cultures. Last summer he visited Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam, while in 2013 he lived and worked in Australia, New Zealand and Fiji for a total of 6 months. He has visited many countries across Europe including Poland, Slovakia and Hungary - which he cycled through in 2012. Robert also enjoys keeping fit and being involved in competitive sport, particularly indoor football. He has experience of coaching football at youth level and he holds FA coaching qualifications at level 1 and youth level 1.
