I was delighted to undertake the role of Principal at the British School of Beijing, Sanlitun from August 2015. Previously I held the role Head of Primary at the British School of Guangzhou, within the Nord Anglia Education family of schools.
Born and raised on the Wirral in the United Kingdom, I later attended Durham University and stayed in the North East of England for the early part of my teaching career. One of the highlights of my time there was being seconded as an advisory teacher. Travelling around different schools to deliver model lessons and organise and lead teacher training enabled me to develop personally and professionally. After I left Durham, I began working internationally in schools in the United Arab Emirates and Switzerland. In particular, working at Le Rosey, a Swiss boarding school, gave me an alternative perspective to what I had experienced previously in the world of education.
As a keen educationalist, creating a sense of community and engagement for the students, parents and staff are central to my philosophy of leading a successful and vibrant school.
