Elise took on the reins as Headmaster at North Broward Preparatory School in 2012 after serving seven years in various roles including Assistant Headmaster for Academics, Principal, Curriculum Coordinator and Assistant Principal.
She earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education with a minor in Special Education and certification in ESOL, from Florida International University and a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from Nova Southeastern University. Prior to joining North Broward Preparatory School, Elise spent fifteen years as an elementary school teacher, curriculum coordinator and Assistant Principal for Broward County Public Schools. She also served as an adjunct professor at Florida Atlantic University.
Elise has guided the development of various programs at NBPS including STEAM, a Culture of Thinking and Learning, and the Mandarin language program. She is a consummate leader who serves as an outstanding advocate for students, faculty and parents. As a strong believer in the power of “the network”, Elise chaired several collaborative groups for the Meritas Family of Schools, including the Education Technology Committee and Academic Council.
Elise was elected to serve on the Board of Directors of the Florida Council of Independent Schools (FCIS) in 2015. FCIS is the largest independent accrediting body in Florida, and member of the National Association of Independent Schools (NAIS).
She is married and has two children, both proud graduates of North Broward Preparatory School. When not at school, Elise can be found at the ice-rink, cheering on the state champion NBPS hockey team.
