BIS Abu Dhabi’s Global Orchestra representatives Rolane, Isabella, and Melissa have jumped straight into rehearsals in preparation for the Nord Anglia Global Orchestra concert today, 30th June, at The DiMennaCenter for Classical Music in New York.
During the trip, students will have participated in inspiring workshops and practice sessions guided by experts. Our students will also be privileged to visit The Juilliard School, which has created a special program of interactive performances with teaching artists in the fields of dance, drama, and music.
Here is what the girls had to say about their experience so far:
“It has been great to be part of the global orchestra so far! I have really enjoyed the rehearsals and I have learned a lot. I really like the international environment and meeting lots of different people and their cultures. I am excited to see the musical “Matilda” and to go sightseeing around New York. I was last in New York when I was 1 but I don’t remember so it’s nice to be here and making lots of memories. It’s an amazing experience and I am very glad I came.” Isabella
“Being part of the Global orchestra so far is amazing! I am learning so much musically from other teachers but I am also loving working with other pupils from all around the world. I am enjoying learning new genres of music like classical and jazz but I am also enjoying meeting people who are from different schools and from different nationalities and making new friends. It has been a great experience so far because it was my first time away from my home so I felt more independent and more mature! I am really excited to perform in the concert with the Orchestra and I’m looking forward for sightseeing as it’s my first time in USA.” Rolane
