Swimming Teacher

The British International School Abu Dhabi is looking to appoint an enthusiastic, qualified and experienced Swimming Teacher to join a well-established and supportive Physical Education Team in a highly successful school.

About the Role:
As a Swimming Teacher you will support the development and delivery of high-quality swimming lessons to students of varying age and ability. You will be able to plan and deliver fun and stimulating classes which encourage students to make outstanding progress with their swim skills. You will have a strong understanding of best poolside practice and will ensure that strict health and safety standards are always maintained.

Swimming Teachers also play a key role in delivering a programme of extra-curricular swim activities and will also be involved in coaching and developing the school's successful swim squads. 

Ideally, you will already be based in the UAE.

Minimum Qualifications Required:

  • ASA/UKCC level 2 for Teaching Aquatics, ASA Level 2 Certificate for Coaching Swimming (swimming, synchronized swimming, diving or water polo), Level 2 Coach, UKCC Level 2 Certified, or an international equivalent.
  • Current lifesaving and first aid qualification

Ideal Experience:

  • A minimum of 2 years teaching/coaching in a school environment
  • Ability to plan and deliver stimulating classes to a range of students
  • Experience of coaching competitive swim squads, supporting extra-curricular swim activities including internal and external swim meets
  • Have strong understanding of safe poolside practice

Selection Process
Applicants should submit a CV, letter of application and the details of two professional referees, one of which should be your current Line Manager.

The closing date for application is 11th July 2020. However, we reserve the right to begin interviewing and make an appointment prior to the closing date. 

Interviews will be conducted via videoconferencing.

Anticipated start date will be 23rd August 2020.
