Kian Rowshan

Celebrating one of our outstanding IGCSE 2018 students, Kian Rowshan. Below Kian shares his thoughts about completing the course and his achievements:

How was your experience doing IGCSEs in BIS Abu Dhabi?

Being at the school since 2010, a year 4 student at the time, going through primary, secondary and now on to sixth form, I feel that all that time, ultimately building up to my years in the iGCSE were truly great years in my life and I've developed greatly as a student and as a person over this time. Great teachers such as Mr Maughan, Mrs Raftery and Mrs Victoriya have had a great influence on my studies in their respective subjects among many others. With iGCSEs, in particular, I feel that the school succeeded in motivating and preparing every student to be both mentally and academically ready and gave me the drive I needed every day to be able to achieve what I have in iGCSE. I'm very thankful for the experience that BIS Abu Dhabi has given me for these 2 years and for the 6 years prior.

Are you happy with your results?

I am very happy with my results, I imagined I would do relatively well but opening my results for the first time was quite shocking, I had surpassed my own expectations but in truth, I never really knew what to expect. So I am quite happy that my hard work all throughout year 10 and 11 was worth it in the end.

What are you plans for the future?

I am currently enrolled in the IB Diploma program which is (from what I've heard) a much more strenuous course than the iGCSE, but I am up for the challenge and I'm very excited for the near future with the IB. I hope I can replicate my academic success in this course as well. With my current higher level choices being Math, Economics and Geography, I am aiming to achieve well and get into a top university to pursue Economics.
